Brooklyn Vapor Blasting is a specialist shop, not a general blast-everything operation. Our core work is restoration-quality finishing on aluminum — engine cases, carburetors, covers and precision assemblies — for builders, restoration shops and collectors who demand OEM-correct results.
Because we understand how these components are built and reassembled, every job is approached the same way the mechanic putting it back together would.
02 / Why vapor blasting

The cleaning method that doesn't fight the metal.

Over time aluminum collects oxidation, fuel residue, baked-on staining and environmental wear that standard cleaning can't touch. Dry media blasting is too aggressive — it pits surfaces and alters tolerances.

Vapor blasting suspends fine media in water, so it lifts contamination while preserving the original casting texture. The result is a clean, uniform, satin finish that looks factory-correct — without removing base material or opening up critical clearances.

  • Vintage restoration accuracy
  • Engine-rebuild preparation
  • Show-quality presentation
  • Improved mechanical resale value

Four steps, no shortcuts.
STEP 01

Every part is inspected and critical surfaces, threads and bearing bores are protected before anything touches the cabinet.

STEP 02

Vapor blast

Fine media suspended in water lifts oxidation and contamination while preserving the cast texture — controlled, even, edge to edge.

STEP 03

Rinse & passivate

Parts are thoroughly rinsed and treated to stabilize the fresh aluminum surface and prevent flash oxidation.

STEP 04

Inspect & return

Final inspection for finish consistency, then packaged for drop-off pickup or protected return shipping.

From the bench

Sent a crusty CB engine's worth of cases up from Jersey and got them back looking like they'd never left the factory. The casting detail is all still there — that's the part nobody else gets right.

Fast, communicative, and the finish is exactly what a concours build needs. This is now my only call for aluminum.
